Outdoor Summer Farmhouse Wedding | Laura + Semir

Jun 9, 2022

If you’re wondering if I obsess over my couples on their wedding day, the answer is 100% yes. From the moment that my couples inquire to even weeks after the wedding date, I am always there for them when they need me. Planning your wedding can be one wild ride, so making sure you have vendors to support you on one of the most important days of your life is important! When Laura and Semir first reached out and I learned all about their wedding day vision, I was hooked. We then spent over 12 months perfecting and curating everything they wanted for their wedding day. Today I FINALLY get to share that with you with this beautiful Outdoor Summer Farmhouse Wedding. Keep reading… it’s gonna be good!

Historic Acres of Hershey

Laura and Semir’s wedding took place at this beautiful wedding venue here in Pennsylvania, Historic Acres of Hershey. This beautiful wedding venue is located on 7 acres of land and has some of the most beautiful decor and scenery I’ve seen. The property was originally a working farm dating back to the early 1900s. Since then the venue has been restored into what it is today! Some of the amazing amenities that Historic Acres of Hershey has are:

  • Climate controlled 4 season pavilion
  • Indoor/outdoor event spaces
  • Pond
  • 19th-century farmhouse

This stunning wedding venue is perfect for any couple looking for a bit of history and charm on their wedding day. Historic Acres of Hershey also offers a ton of different wedding packages for you to look through, read through some of those here! If you want to inquire to see if this is your dream wedding venue, go for it! Click here to fill out their contact form.

Getting Ready

It was a beautiful Summer morning when I arrived at Historic Acres of Hershey. I met up with Laura that morning as she and her bridesmaids were finishing getting ready. Typically I will set aside time in the morning to start taking detail photos, so that’s exactly what I did.

Detail Photos

Detail photos are photos that help tell you and your partner’s love story. Keepsakes, momentos, and signature items that come together to tell your unique story. Some items to include in your wedding details are:

  • Wedding invitation suite
  • All rings / Jewelry
  • Hairpieces
  • Your veil
  • Perfume or cologne
  • Shoes
  • Floral trimmings
  • and more!

I will often ask my couples to gather a box filled with their wedding details prior to their wedding day. That way once I arrive, we are stress-free and ready to go.

Tip: Have a designated person hold onto your wedding details. That way we don’t have to interrupt you if we arrive and your getting your hair & makeup done!

First Look(s)

Shortly after spending some time with Laura and Samir while they were finishing up getting ready, it was time for first looks. For those of you who don’t know… about 99.9% of the time I witness the first look, I cry. It’s inevitable and I’m totally okay with it but just as a warning – LOL. First looks are a great way to have some alone time with your partner, but it’s not only for them! You can have a first look with your bridesmaids, entire wedding party, or parent/guardian.

In Laura’s case, she chose to first have a first look with her dad. The overwhelming amounts of emotions were running high at that moment and you could just see how much love there was. Remember to pack yourself some tissues, trust me you’re gonna need them! Shortly after, Laura met up with Semir for their first look, and boy oh boy did it not disappoint.

Outdoor Summer Farmhouse Wedding

You know that saying… time flies when you’re having fun? Well, that’s quite literally what happened here. The weather, although hot, was absolutely beautiful on this day. After the first look, I took Laura and Semir around the property and used the greenery as our stunning backdrop. We took some solo portraits of Laura and let me just say how AMAZING she looked in that dress? I’m still fan-girling over here. Took a few solo portraits of Semir and of course had to get some photos with the wedding party!

Ceremony & Reception

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the ceremony! Near a pond on the property stood a pergola decorated in beautiful florals (s/o Petals with Style). The theme for Laura and Semir’s wedding definitely focused on greenery, nature, and simplicity. It was a beautiful setting for an absolutely beautiful ceremony. While exchanging vows there was not a dry eye in sight. You could just see how many people truly love Laura and Semir and it just warms my heart. It wasn’t long until they had their first kiss as newlyweds and the ceremony was over!

After spending some time at cocktail hour, the reception space was finally ready for us. Upon entering the space you are greeted with these decadent chandeliers. Still sticking to the simple and romantic theme, the entire wedding reception space was straight out of a catalog. Laura and Semir had their first dance as newlyweds before breaking off to have father/daughter and mother/son dances. Some candid moments were caught during speeches before packing up my bag to run home and edit away. The experience was an amazing one and I am so honored to have been there to document Laura and Semir’s special day.
