Knowlton Mansion Wedding Photography | Philadelphia, PA | Amber + Rich

Apr 20, 2021

Amber and Rich rescheduled their wedding to exactly one year out from their original date and were finally able to have their long-awaited Knowlton Mansion Wedding! I started the day off with the girls at one of Amber’s friend’s houses and it was the perfect spot! Amber was so cute getting ready, you could tell she was so darn excited! She was ecstatic over her hair and makeup and you’ll see why!

It was raining off and on all morning, but as soon as we arrived at Knowlton Mansion to do their first look, it miraculously stopped and it never rained again all day! Amber did a first look with her Dad, her six nephews, and then with Richie. They were all such special moments! Knowlton Mansion is so stunning and I especially loved their dusty blue and grey color scheme against this backdrop!

Amber + Richie’s closest friends and family rounded out their wedding party and it was such a fun group!

The Proposal Story

As told by Amber … “Ahhhh! I still feel so appreciated and loved when I think about it. He planned everything himself! And his family jokes that he’s not the best planner, so it meant a great deal to me! He told me we were going to meet his parents halfway, in West Chester for a birthday lunch. My future mother-in-law and I have the same birthday, so I thought nothing of it. His mom called saying they were running a little behind. He suggested we walk around IN FEBRUARY! I told him he was crazy and let’s just wait in the car. He got out and got my door and I went… a bit confused. As we approached this gorgeous castle-like building on campus my heart dropped. He whispered that we weren’t going to lunch here, then got on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage.

He had a photographer across the street take some photos and then whisked us away to Center City where both sets of parents greeted us at a hotel. He had also gotten us a room for the night with champagne ready to go! We all cried and laughed and when I thought lunch was over, but there was another surprise. We were going to our hometown in bucks county! We got to his parent’s house and at first, it was close friends and immediate family…including another surprise. My sister from Missouri flew in for the day. Tears again! As the night went on more family members and friends appeared and it was a huge celebration. By the end of the night, we headed back to Center City. I am smiling as I type this because I’m still in awe of every detail he put into it. I’m so lucky!”
