Knowlton Mansion Wedding | Philadelphia, PA | Amber + Rich

Amber and Rich rescheduled their wedding to exactly one year out from their original date. In the Spring of 2021, they were finally able to have their long-awaited Knowlton Mansion Wedding! To begin, I started the day off with the girls at one of Amber’s friend’s houses, and it was the perfect spot! Amber was so excited that the day had finally come. In fact, she was exploding with joy and love, making for a really great morning. She was ecstatic over her hair and makeup — and you’ll see why!

Wedding photos at Knowlton Mansion

Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia is a stunning example of Victorian-era architecture. Nestled on a lush, 13-acre estate, the mansion features an intricate stone facade, gabled roofs, and a charming turret that evoke the elegance of a bygone era. Inside, original woodwork, stained glass windows, and a grand staircase enhance its historic charm. Outside, the expansive grounds, vibrant gardens, and serene carriage house create a picturesque setting for any wedding day.

The morning of the wedding started off rainy. Fortunately, by the time we arrived at the mansion for photos, the rain had stopped! Even better, it didn’t rain again all day. To start, Amber did a first look with her dad, then with her six nephews, and finally with Richie. They were all such special moments!

Knowlton Mansion is truly a unique and historic property. Additionally, I loved this couple’s choice of a dusty blue and grey color scheme. We captured so many sweet portraits of the couple. The property has countless great locations, and with it being Spring, we were lucky to have some flowering trees.

Amber + Richie’s closest friends and family rounded out their wedding party and it was such a fun group!

Outdoor Ceremony in the Spring

The outdoor wedding ceremony space at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia is a serene oasis framed by lush greenery and historic charm. Surrounded by mature trees and meticulously landscaped gardens, it features a romantic terrace that creates a picturesque backdrop for exchanging vows.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with champagne and seated on the manicured lawn. Meanwhile, the elegant mansion’s stone facade and ornate details provide a timeless, enchanting ambiance that captures the essence of a garden wedding.

During the ceremony, Amber and Richie’s emotions were running high, which is always a favorite of mine to photograph. In particular, the quiet moments — a tear falling, the holding of a hand, or the reactions to a vow — will be cherished forever by this lovely couple.

Knowlton Mansion Wedding Reception

The Knowlton Mansion wedding reception space radiates historic charm with its rich wood paneling, grand vaulted ceilings, and expansive windows that flood the room with natural light. Later in the evening, we wrapped up the night inside under the string lights. Throughout the celebration, there were amazing toasts and an extra special mother and son dance. Overall, cheers to this wonderful couple; it was such a pleasure working with them. In fact, I was able to work with Amber and Rich even longer than I could have imagined, and it was an absolute pleasure!
