This blog however is incredibly special, because we are blogging MY Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard wedding in Devon, PA. My wedding day was an absolute dream and definitely one of, if not, the most magical day of my entire life. Now I get to share my experience as a bride and some of my favorite moments, any regrets, tips, etc.

Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard in Devon, PA

Being a Philadelphia Wedding Photographer, I am no stranger to Terrain Events and their three separate wedding locations. Those include Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard, Terrain at Styer’s, and Terrain Gardens at Delaware Valley University. Recently we blogged about Farzona and Brunno’s wedding at Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard which again, shows how stunning this wedding venue is. It was an easy choice to tie the knot at such a gorgeous wedding venue and when Chad and I went to tour, we absolutely fell in love.

Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard officially opened its doors in 2018. Located in Devon, Pennsylvania, this wedding venue merges indoor and outdoor spaces to create a unique, one-of-a-kind space. You get the blend of rustic and modern features which pair beautifully together. In the reception space, you will find reclaimed barn wood floors, high ceilings, overhead festival lights, and skylights that give you tons of natural light. Their outdoor ceremony garden is lined with wisteria trees and reclaimed mantles which is an incredibly picturesque backdrop for photos. The Terrain Gardens Devon location offers their space all year round perfect for any couple wanting to tie the knot during the off-peak months! Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard is one of those wedding spaces that when you know, you know. It’s an absolute dream to get married here and I 100% don’t regret our choice.

Guest Capacity At Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard

Guest capacity can play a huge role when booking your wedding venue. Depending on what you prioritize more, having a wedding venue that can fit all of your guests can be one of the most important deciding factors. At this Pennsylvania wedding venue, they can host up to 140 seated guests and that includes the dance floor.

Maybe you’re someone who wants a smaller and more intimate gathering at Terrain Gardens. Luckily, Terrain offers The Atrium at Terrain Gardens which is a perfect event space for a more intimate wedding celebration. Inside The Atrium, you will find farmhouse-inspired furnishings and a garden-centric patio. Also, you will receive fresh, locally sourced ingredients which could be incredibly important to you. Along with guest capacity, the cost of the wedding venue *is* the most important factor in wedding planning. Choosing the right wedding venue helps set the stage for the remainder of the wedding planning process. I wish I could describe to you how magical our wedding day was. I was hardly able to sleep the night before because I was so excited. Getting ready early that morning in the Airbnb was so much fun. We found the perfect house for all of us to get ready in. The basement of the farmhouse had the most fitting little tavern for the guys to hang out and the rooms of the house were designed and decorated perfectly for photos. I kept my dress a surprise to all of my bridesmaids besides my Matron of Honor. So, it was really fun and exciting to do first looks with the bridesmaids, my Dad, and my brother. The first look with Chad was obviously the most anticipated and it could not have been more perfect and emotional.

My L&H Couture Wedding Dress + How To Find Your Dream Dress

Not only was I on absolute cloud 9, but my dress was to die for. I decided to dress shop exclusively with my Mom only and it was such a special time. They’re not lying when they tell you that you will know when you’ve found THE ONE! I ended up trying on several dresses at three different shops. After the first two dress shops, I felt discouraged that I wasn’t finding the dress that gave me that feeling. The dress I chose was the very first dress that I put on at the third shop, L&H Couture in Doylestown. I am so obsessed with the details, I never wanted to take it off! Don’t give up looking or get discouraged until you get THE feeling.

Family-Style Reception + Farm Fresh Dinner

One of the many things I loved about our reception was that we opted for family-style dining. This was something that Terrain offered, which we thought was a unique experience for our guests. Terrain has such amazing food and this allowed our guests to try some of everything that was served. It was also less stressful for us because we didn’t need to collect meal choices with RSVPs! This along with the long farm tables adorned with greenery and candles was the exact vibe that we wanted. The reception space was such a romantic and beautiful space all on its own, that it was easy to elevate it with greenery and candles.

Advice For Future Brides Planning Their Wedding

This time as a bride, I was able to see things from a completely different perspective. I am now able to connect with my couples *even* more, having gone through all the motions of wedding planning. One thing I learned throughout this entire process was to not overwhelm yourself with too many options. As a wedding photographer, that was my biggest challenge. I have seen so many options and my social media is flooded with weddings of every kind. Research your options and choose 3-5 certain vendors to talk to and get information from. Then, choose the best option for you and go with your gut!

I can’t believe that our wedding day has come and gone just like that. It felt like it was just yesterday that I was getting engaged and now here I am, a whole WIFEY. Thank you so much for reading along and I am so happy to share a glimpse into our dream wedding and photos.
