We started off the day with some absolutely beautiful detail shots. Typically this is what we will start photographing as soon as we arrive at your getting-ready location. We set a special time in your wedding timeline for this portion of the day and is usually some of our favorite moments. Your wedding details essentially help tell your story and tie everything else together, which is why we love curating and designing them so much!

After a bit of time in hair & makeup, it was time for Michelle to slip into her wedding dress. Her mom helped her slip into her dress from I do… I do… and she was just the most stunning bride. From there, we made sure every hair and thread was in place as we had her go meet up with Jake for their first look.

First Look & Portraits

First looks have always pulled on our heartstrings and this one was no different. They stir up all kinds of emotions and are a great way for our couples to have some alone time and intimacy on their wedding day. If you’re one of those people wondering if you should do a first look, we highly recommend checking out this blog here!

Beyond the first look, it was the perfect time to gather everyone for portraits. We first began with couples portraits with Michelle and Jake. Wandering throughout the property at The Farm at Eagles Ridge was an absolute dream. Everything was so lush and green and we even made a stop at the spring-fed pond located on the property. Typically we enjoy it when there are a bit of clouds on wedding days for portraits. This is because clouds kind of diffuse the light, rather than having to deal with shadows from the harsh sun. The wedding party then came for the second portion of portraits for some wedding party portraits before making our way to the ceremony spot.

Ceremony & Reception

The ceremony spot was located right in front of the pond with beautiful trees draping over the end of the aisle. Despite the minimalistic look of their wedding decor, it was the simplicity that made it all the more beautiful. Watching all of their friends and family come together for such a special moment always warms our hearts and reminds us why we are so passionate about our work.

Shortly after was a brief cocktail hour as the reception space inside was getting set up. We were able to take a sneak peek inside prior to all of the guest entering. This is where we gasped at the beautiful floral centerpieces and string lights and chandeliers. As guests sat down and began trickling in, so did the wedding party. Confetti guns and grand entrances were made before the newlyweds made their entrance. We witnessed them go into their first dance together before breaking into their parent dances. After the main course meal and cake cutting, we ended the night with an open dance floor and a whole lot of energy. If you ask me, THIS is how you end a wedding day, don’t ya think?
