Rustic Italian Inspired Wedding at Anthony Wayne House | Caroline + Andrew

Jun 13, 2019

I hope you’re ready to hear me absolutely gush about Caroline and Andrew’s rustic Italian inspired wedding at Anthony Wayne House. From the details, to the adorable couple, hilarious bridal party, and an amazing supporting cast of family and friends, Caroline and Andrew’s wedding was NOT a party to be missed! Seeing all the beautiful, rustic Italian-inspired details literally made my heart sing. Using all those lemons in the detail shots was so much fun, and they were the perfect complementary color to the lovely invitations by Aly Houng.

Getting ready with both Caroline and Andrew was such a blast. I thought Andrew’s floral tie, matched with his blue suit from The Black Tux was such a dashing statement! Caroline’s wedding morning wasn’t complete without a WaWa run and some McDonald’s chicken nuggets. By the end of the day, I literally felt like Caroline and Andrew’s best friend. It’s so hard to put into words how sweet and genuine these two are. This is just another reason why my job is so amazing, and so dynamic – I’m there to capture your day, but I’m there to become your best friend, understand you, and help you! I’m so blessed to have a job that allows me to meet so many wonderful people!

Rustic Italian Inspired Wedding at Anthony Wayne House

Did I totally tear up during Caroline and Andrew’s first look? Um, DUH. How could I not when their reactions look like that! I was so happy to capture such genuine love and emotion at their wedding at Anthony Wayne House. Caroline and Andrew have something totally special with each other. Both of them wear their hearts on their sleeves, which is both totally refreshing as a person, and absolutely delightful as a photographer. And speaking of, Andrew is actually a photographer too! They live together in Chicago where they work as teachers; Andrew and Caroline met at Penn State, while volunteering for THON. It’s always so much fun to get to know my couples and hear where they’re from and how they met. I loved Caroline and Andrew’s story, and I also loved all the time we spent together before their ceremony!

Caroline and Andrew’s rustic Italian inspiration came back again when I photographed the bridal party! This was a ridiculously fun group of friends and family. I totally felt at home working with all of them. Through the laughter, jokes, and snickering, we truly captured some beautiful memories! I’m kind of in love with the black bridesmaid dresses as well; I adored the mismatched styles but the consistent elegant color. Andrew’s groomsmen had SO much fun with each other as well! The adorable bouquet’s by Flower’s By Priscilla were the perfect pop of color against the black and blue!

Wedding Ceremony at Anthony Wayne House

Finally it was time for this beautiful ceremony outdoors at the Anthony Wayne House! I am so in love with the space this venue provides for ceremonies. It felt so sweet and intimate, and I just loved being among the trees like that! Caroline and Andrew had the absolute sweetest ceremony. Their faces say it all, but every word spoken was said with genuine love and adoration. Capturing all this raw emotion is such an important part of my job. I loved being a part of Caroline and Andrew’s life! These two shared a passionate kiss, then escaped back down the aisle, through the cheers of their friends and family!

Okay, I’m going to put out a little public announcement right here for this amazing couple – Caroline and Andrew, please don’t go back to Chicago! I need another party just like this!

Wedding Reception

This wedding at Anthony Wayne House was so beautiful and SO much fun. From all the adorable, rustic details to the fantastic DJ, I genuinely had no intention of leaving, like, AT ALL. Caroline and Andrew took the wedding back out into the grass to toast with all their friends and family who came! This might be one of my favorite moments in the entire wedding. Caroline and Andrew look so overjoyed, and every face in the background is grinning!

The sweet couple also made a jubilant entrance to the dance floor, where they shared a romantic first dance under the lights! Soon enough the sun began to go down, so the three of us ventured back out to capture some more portraits together. I seriously cannot get over the tender love these two shared. Caroline and Andrew could not take their eyes off of each other! I am so overjoyed not just to have captured their wedding day, but become friends with these two! This was truly a day I will never forget!
